Section notes

  • A variable is a name that refers to a value in memory, for example x = 5.
  • The basic types are int, float and str; type() tells you a value's type.
  • Arithmetic operators + - * / // % ** follow an order of precedence.
  • input() reads text from the user; int() or float() turns it into a number.
